Van 5 tot en met 25 september kun je op PokerStars terecht voor het World Championship of Online Poker. De jaarlijks terugkerende online toernooiserie heeft gedurende deze twintig dagen 73 verschillende events op de planning staan met een totaal van $75 Miljoen aan gegarandeerde prijzen. Net zoals vorig jaar heeft elk evenement drie verschillende prijsklasses, dus zowel micro, medium en high stakes spelers kunnen zich in hun handjes wrijven.

Het World Championship of Online Poker is dé toernooiserie waar elke online grinder naar uit kijkt. Waar vroeger het evenement bedoelt was voor de high stakes spelers, is het tegenwoordig aantrekkelijk voor spelers met grote en kleine bankrolls. Zowel het No Limit Texas Hold'em als het Pot Limit Omaha Main Event vindt plaats op zondag 22 september en hebben meerdere prijsklasses.

Het No Limit Hold'em Main Event heeft een $55 Low Editie met een prijzenpot van $1,250,000 en een $5,200 High Editie met een prijzenpot van $10,000,000. Het Pot Limit Omaha Main Event heeft buy-ins van $109, $1,050 en $10,300. De afgelopen twee jaar was er veel Nederlands succes bij de WCOOP. In 2017 won Steven van Zadelhoff het $5,200 No Limit Hold'em main event voor $1,624,502.27 en het jaar daarna volgde "wann2play" hem op en ontving $1,352,967.97.

Buiten alle No Limit Hold'em toernooien staan er genoeg andere varianten op het programma van de WCOOP 2019. Onder andere HORSE, 8-Game, Razz, Stud Hi Lo, 2-7 Lowball, Badugi, Pot Limit Omaha , Omaha Hi Lo en Short Deck (6+ Hold'em) staan op de planning, maar de Texas Hold'em toernooien hebben wel de overhand. Leaderboard

Tijdens de WCOOP zullen er ook aparte prijzen worden uitgedeeld aan de beste spelers in elke prijsklasse. In totaal wordt er $50,000 gegeven aan alle spelers die hoog in deze leaderboards komen. De winnaar van het algemene schema gaat met het grootste gedeelte hiervan naar huis namelijk $20,000.
