Slecht nieuws voor Nederlandse online spelers

Het klinkt misschien dramatisch, maar woensdag 8 februari gaat voor een heleboel spelers de boeken in als een zwarte dag. PokerStars.ft maakte namelijk bekend dat het Nederlandse spelers vanaf volgende week niet meer welkom zijn. Een grote schok, want voor veel landgenoten geldt de website al jaren lang als een klein goudmijntje.

 

Niet alleen de Nederlandse pokerspelers zijn de pineut. PokerStars.fr is vanaf volgende week alleen nog toegankelijk voor spelers die in Frankrijk wonen of in overzeese gebiedsdelen die bij het land horen. Spelers met een PokerStars.fr account ontvingen de volgende mail:

 

"In an effort to adapt to a constantly changing environment, from February 13, 2017 a reorganisation will take place resulting in limiting service on PokerStars.FR to players resident in mainland France or its overseas territories.

 

Players based outside France continue to be welcome to play on PokerStars.COM, the world’s largest online poker site, or at other PokerStars licensed websites subject to local laws and regulations of the country in which they reside.

Erg slecht nieuws dus, want een groot aantal van de Nederlandse pokeraars zagen de site als een goede plek om winst te pakken. Waar PokerStars.eu de betere spelers aantrekt en ook grotere velden heeft, kozen veel Nederlanders er voor om te spelen op het kleine Franse broertje. Vanaf volgende week valt die optie dus af en moeten ook de Nederlandse regulars overstappen op PokerStars.eu, als ze nog steeds op Stars willen spelen.
